Friends, Family and Jethro's Mother.
We have been home for four weeks already and I still miss those smiling faces!
Especially this one......
Luke is the son of our friends Brian and Jill who hosted us during our time there. I also mentioned that Jeff and I had attended Bible College with Jill and had not seen each other for over 15 years! We had no idea who Jill was until we walked into her home and had that strange feeling like we had met before! There were many late nights catching up and reminiscing about those days together.
Brian is the Pastor of Calvary Chapel Kampala. They are such sweet servants and truly spoiled us during our time there. Their stories should be written in a book. It is evident that God has His hand upon them and has called them to lay down their lives for His people. Such sacrifice.
I had the most snuggly cuddles with this beautiful boy.
He is always smiling and laughing. What a gift from Jesus he is. Brian and Jill adopted Luke when he was a baby.
On the way home to NC, Jeff and I stopped again in London. My Dad and step mum Nikki drove up from West Sussex especially to be there at 7.30 in the morning just to spend a couple of hours with us before we took our connecting flight home. It had been almost two years since we have seen them! My children are still very eager to see their Grandad and Grandma Nikki and we hope that maybe this year we will be able to go home for a visit. (Although with an adoption approaching and another trip to Uganda, we may need a miracle.)
I want to give a little more insight regarding little Jethro who was discovered in the pit latrine in Uganda. (I posted a video last week.) Jethro is now living at Noah's Ark Children's Home and doing really well. His mother has an incredibly sad story and she certainly needs prayer. She was only 14 years old when she was raped by an older man who threatened to kill her if she told anyone. When her mother discovered she was pregnant, she was expelled from her home. A distant relative took her into their home as a servant girl but when her contractions began, she was told to carry on working. After giving birth to Jethro, she threw him into the pit latrine believing that this would solve her problems.
Praise the Lord that his voice was heard crying and he was immediately rescued. It is a miracle that Jethro is alive today and my heart truly hurts for his mother also.
She is only a child herself.
The things we saw and heard while visiting Uganda continue to walk with me each day. I don't think I shall ever stop praying for these people and their heart breaking stories.

Heart-Breaking--I can not imagine! How horrifying for that young mother--still just a babe herself. Wow! Praying she finds comfort in knowing that God had other plans for her and her son.
